Police appeal to East Calder residents after Collie is dognapped

Police are urging locals to keep their eyes peeled for a Collie dog whose disappearance has left her owner devastated.
The dog - known as Tan – was in a white transit van that was stolen in Main Street, Longridge, around 9.15am yesterday (Wednesday, December 14).
The driver left the white transit van unlocked with the keys in the ignition while he delivered milk to a nearby store and when he returned at 9.30am, he discovered it had been stolen.
Tan, who was in the vehicle at the time, was also taken and police are urging anyone who can assist with their enquiries to come forward.
Within hours of Tan disappearing, pleas were put out on facebook by her distraught owner’s family.
The appeal, posted along with a photograph of Tan, said: “Can everyone in West Lothian look out for this dog please.
“She was in a van that was stolen this morning between 9.15-9.30 am outside McCord's shop in Longridge.
“She is called Tan and is a tan coloured bearded collie cross.
“She is quite a timid dog and her owner would just like her safe return.”
A police spokesman said: "The driver has been left utterly distraught at the theft of his van, but more importantly, his pet dog.
"Anyone who comes across an abandoned Collie is asked to alert their local policing team.
"We would also ask anyone who was on Main Street yesterday morning and saw anything suspicious to contact police immediately.
"Motorists are reminded never to leave a vehicle insecure when it is unattended and to either take valuable possessions with them or keep them hidden out of sight."
